MAGGIE 4.5 yr Yellow Female 85 lbs
Maggie is people lover and a people pleaser! She is all about entertaining her 2 legged friends, and
any dog cookies or squeaky toys that you can pass her way will only make her love you more. Maggie
will be the first in the car should you wish to go for a drive and will even sit shot-gun if you let her. If you
are looking for a companion that will curl up with you while you read a book, snuggle and comfort you
during a sappy chick-flick or supervise the cooking of dinner (not to mention the clean-up any scraps
that should hit the floor), then look no further as Maggie is the lab for you.

Maggie has a gentle disposition and a quiet nature when surrounded by those that care for her. She
has good leash skills and an excellent grasp of basic commands. Off leash, Maggie is never far from
your side. This gorgeous dog is a big girl and will require a companion that can continue her training
and discipline work both on and off the lead.

Maggie is a low-medium energy dog and better suited to a life of leisure, cared for by a laid-back
family with no young children, who can provide her with the walks, play time and love that she
deserves. This bouncy, lovable lab has not had an easy life so we would prefer she go to a home with
no other dogs so she is the center of attention she deserves so much.

TULIP 5 yrs Yellow Female 80 lbs
Tulip is a total cuddle girl. She adores hanging out with her foster mom the closer the better. If she can this
pudgy princess tries to cuddle up on her lap for some love.  She likes to watch her foster mom work away at the
computer and she lounges on the couch to wait for the first sign that they are going out for a walk and then she
gets super excited. Walking on leash is a bit of a challenge for Tulip as she is use to off leash type romps but she
is responsive to correction and will do well with a family willing to give her further guidance.

Tulip rides fine in the car and will settle in nicely.

More info coming soon.

Sheila (Chocolate lab) & Diesel (Black lab)
brother and sister duo approx 75 lbs
Peanut butter and jam; bacon and eggs; peas and carrots; Sheila and Diesel

Mellow like a morning coffee, one black, the other with milk, these litter-mates and best friends both love spending time with their
people and never stray far.  Walks are a dream with these two.  Diesel has a bit of pep in his step while his sister prefers a more
pokey pace.  They enjoy their walks since they often walk with a 6 year old boy and the cats they pass are a nice thing to see as they
leisurely pass by.  These two would be just as happy playing fetch in the back yard until they drop. Trips to the off-leash park are an
exciting excursion - lots to explore, time to socialize and a perfect space to play and stretch their legs.

They are typical siblings and can have a little rough-housing and playtime together.  Diesel has been known to drag Sheila by the
collar but Shiela is really just playing with him as she puts him in his place every time.  Then it's back to sleeping side by side. They
love to play tug with their knotted ropes and can amuse themselves for a while with these.  A good nap on the bed beside their
people is their ideal way to settle in after a good play time.

When their people have come home these twins get pretty excited.  They love their people so much that it's hard to contain their
wiggly bums.  After this initial excitement wears off they are perfect roommates.  They ask first before jumping on furniture, they keep
out of things that aren't theirs, they aren't keen on barking, they keep four on the floor, and they love their people so much that they
don't rush to be the first out the door.  They could use some refreshing on some of the basic commands - with them so mellow, so
eager to please and food motivated this should come along pretty easily.

If you're reading this website then you already know that labs are love, happiness and loyalty all bundled up in a fur coat - just
imagine all of this times 2!!

DALLAS 9.75 yrs Chocolate Male 80 lbs
"Don't let my early greying fool you - I have some pep to my step!"

My name is Dallas and I am a good ol’ southern boy (southern Ontario, that is)! Do not be concerned
by my greying fur as I am going for the “distinguished” look. Despite my 9+ years, I am still very active
and love to go for long walks with lots of sniffing and still have plenty of pep left to play fetch. I love
people and other dogs and have recently met my first cat – they are not as bad as other dogs’ say
they are!!

I love to be loved. I need lots of love and affection, not to mention belly rubs. I love to be brushed and
don’t mind having my nails trimmed or getting my eye drops. I am a good boy and will sit, lie down and
can impress the ladies with my roll-over trick when asked to. Sometimes I get excited on the lead and
pull but who can blame me – I love to get out and walk! My family is too busy now to keep my snuggle
meter topped up so I am looking for a forever home that is up to the task.
ADOPTED!

JERSEY 1 yrs Black Female 65 lbs  lab x
Jersey is a super cute petite ball of fun. She wags her tail endlessly and like to sprint around after she
puts her bum in the air to warn you she is about to romp for some fun. She is a happy girl that enjoys
going for walks.  She may pull initially pull but with a little correction she tries to settle. She would do
well with some time invested in training so she can learn the finer fun things in life like shake a paw!

She is always looking for you to tell her something and should connect quite quickly with her new
family.  Jersey is treat motivated so training should be a breeze.

This girl loves to give kisses! If she can reach up and lick your face she will smoother you with
adoration. Cuddles are a favorite of this cutie.  Her foster mom lets her sneak into the bed at night for
a cuddle and boy does she enjoy this. Jersey is house trained and mannerly in the house. She doesn't
bark much in the house. She is enjoying some of her new toys  and becoming quite a star at fetching
her new ball. This girl would prefer to be the only dog in the house because she wants to receive all
the love.

DEXTER 8.75 Years, Yellow Male 83 lbs
Dexter is a wonderful labbie use to all the comforts of home but sadly his family can not care for him
any longer. He is wonderful with the children in the house and enjoys hanging with people as much as
possible. These days he is alone allot and would appreciate a family around to give him all the cuddles
he deserves.
He rides fine in the car and has knowledge of all basic obedience commands.

He is superior off leash and the owner these days doesn't use one as he is truly a very good walker. If
on a leash he handles that fine as well as the kids of the house walk him.

If you say the word COTTAGE this boy becomes animated and wiggly so excited to be heading to his
favorite place where he will jump endlessly off the dog to fetch that stick for as long as your arm can
take it.

He is wonderful and respectful in the house, polite and easy to manage.
Dexter enjoys other dogs and has lived with a cat.

DYLAN 80 lb male black & SYDNEY 55 lbs female black
.... Dylan & Sydney are litter mates and want to remain together. They are super sweet labs that
need a new home as the owner is traveling too much and can no longer care for them.  Dylan is a
calm boy and can amuse himself with a ball. Sydney is more energetic and adores the attention of
people. She wants to greet people by jumping up and saying hello but does respond well to all basic
commands such as off and leave it.  They really like sleeping cuddled in bed with the owner but do
have their own dog beds to sleep on.  They are use to walking on a split lead and may pull out in front
but with some guidance can be easily corrected and walk within reason. Like any dogs they may pull
to see something but given the size of both of them combined should be manageable.

Dylan enjoys retrieving his chuck it orange ball and simply adores jumping off the dock and fetching.
These two are so well trained in the house that if they want to go to the washroom they stand at the
back door and bark once to be let out.  These days with all the travel the owner is doing they are not
getting the required attention and exercise and they seem a bit depressed. We are looking for a family
that has the time and attention to continue training for Sydney as she can be unfocused these days
and manage two dogs well on leash.

VIOLET 5 yr Chocolate Female 75 lbs
Violet is a super sweet and super scared little girl right now. We have recently rescued her from a
puppy mill where she was subjected to deplorable conditions. Violet has clearly been bred many times
and will need a family who can take it slow with her, build up some muscle mass and understand that
new experiences initially can be quite scary.  Violet's tail does not wag much at this point but we are
confidant as has happened with our previous puppy mill rescues this girl will one day blossom. She is
a true rescue and we are proud to be able to help this girl find her forever home. As we get to know
more we will add to this write up.

Progress report Jan 27th - Violet continues to flourish with her new foster family. She looks
forward to her daily walks and gets super excited to go - once out she isn't as started by new noises.
She will slowly approach her foster mom for some cuddles and she gobbles her kibble up.  She
ADORES her canine foster sister! Snuggling with her is just the best!   Life is starting to be what she
deserves in life - a loving family to guide and protect her.

MISTY 7 yrs Black Female 90 lbs
Misty is a very sweet, laid back girl.  Her family was moving and couldn't keep her.  She is use to lots of
land to romp on but is also brilliant enough to do well walking on leash even though her time doing
such was quite limited.    Misty use to live with a small dog and delighted in the canine company.  Misty
has enjoyed one too many high caloric meals and thus would do well with a family that can put her on
a diet and build up her walking schedule to shed those winter pounds before eating the Christmas
turkey treats!..

FOSTER UPDATE Jan 7...Misty is a great roommate who greets me at the door with her tail a
wagging!  She is a great listener who knows more commands then everyone's first cellphone.

At first glance you may think she mooches food because of her generous curves, however her
table manners are quite proper.  She would rather sleep on the couch than sit underneath a table
waiting for something to fall on the ground.

Her curves aren't helping with her stiffness in the morning, but after a few steps she warms up
and continues on.  She isn't a fan of the stairs and is happy to stay on the ground floor.  She
loves car rides - front seat, back seat or even the drivers seat if she could!

We go on slow walks two or three times a day for about 15-20 minutes each time.  Misty doesn't
stop to smelling much, but wants everyone to know she's approaching... she'll bark at other dogs
and people who are walking by.    She plays well with other dogs.   Misty has low energy which
should improve as she loses weight.

COBY 11 yrs Yellow Male 105 lbs
Senior Alert ....  click here ...

more info coming soon ...Now this guy is a burnin' hunk of gorgeous dog love.  Only problem is that
Coby is a bit more of a hunk than he should be so will need your help in finding those special low cal
but scrumptious dog treats and a suitable exercise program.  Coby tells us that he wants to be beach
buffed and ready when summer swimming season comes along.

Another one of our perfectly aged senior selections, Coby is looking for his special home where he
can keep you warm on those cold winter nights you know are ahead.  His warm rich yellow will bring
the sun into every corner of your house no matter how bad the storm.

CHOCA 8 yrs Chocolate Female 55 lbs with
her Collie sister ROO 3 years 48lbs
My name is Chocca and my little sister’s name is Roo. We are looking for a new home as our family
could not keep us when their little person developed allergies to us. This made Roo and me very sad
as they are the only family we ever knew. They tried to find us a new home but that did not work out.
Roo and I got lost and ended up running through fields, sleeping outside and trying to find our own
food.  Roo was really scared but I promised to stay with her and get her home safely. After many days
we were finally found. It wasn’t the cozy home we were use to but at least the bed of straw was warm.
That was when my wished came true – Lab Rescue took us in and once again we were back in the
safety of a warm home, with regular food and lots of love and attention. Best of all, Roo and I are
together!

The lady at Lab Rescue promised to find us a “forever” family and our foster home has spoiled us with
lots of walks, play time with dogs, some swimming and even an agility course. We would love a home
with little people as we love to run and play with them. I promise that we are good doggies – we both
learn fast and know basic commands, not to mention a trick or two. We are loyal, very gentle, and
good at playing with other doggies and love to cuddle. Most of all, Roo and I want to be together. I
give you my “paw” that Roo and I will make you smile, send you into fits of giggles and belly laughs,
entertain you with our antics and work our way into your heart in a way that you will never want to let
us go.

Note from Rescue:
Chocca is a spry 8 year old, 55 lb chocolate lab that is eager to please and loves to
learn. Roo is quiet 3 year old, 48 lb collie that adores Chocca and loves to be her
playmate and shadow. Both breeds of dog have a history of excellent obedience,
intelligence, loyalty and devotion and these two dogs are no exception. Chocca and Roo
need to be mentally and physically challenged but the rewards they bestow upon you will
be endless.

BLADE 11 years Yellow Male 90 lbs
Blade is my name but sweetness my game.  I am a big ole yellow boy who is looking for my own
special set of feet(s) to lie on and keep warm.  If I was good with cats, I'd be the perfect dog but....well
I gotta a problem with the kitties..............  so I am the ALMOST perfect gentleman.  I think it's the cats'
fault, not mine!   I am great with other dogs though and am always up for making new dog friends.

I have been a family dog all my life but my people are finding that the new short people keep them too
busy and they can't find enough time for me anymore.  Don't be scared 'cause I am an older gent.  I
love cottaging, going for car rides and am always up for a walk (or two or three.......) and still have lots
of living to do.  But here's the thing, I want to do it with you........ Come and be my new person(s), I am
waiting for you, with me by your side you will never be lonely or cold again.

Blade is owned by his original family but these days the kids keep them quite busy and they aren't
able to give him the time and exercise he would so enjoy
Foster family update .Blade likes to sit close by and enjoys getting some pats.  He'll sleep beside
me at the desk most of the day while I'm working.

He has been going on a couple of walks per day for about 35-45 minutes.  He would run the
whole way if I let him.  He knows when we are going for a walk when I get his leash and gets real
excited.  He starts whining and pacing around by the front door while he's waiting for me to get
ready.  He will follow me around the house if I'm out of his view.  He is a good boy on his own as
well.

He does love his treats and is always happy to get them.  He seems to like soft toys.  He's not
much for balls.  He likes to play fetch and he's also a good catcher if you throw the toy up in the
air for him.  He will bring the toy back and drop it for you to throw again.  He doesn't play tug of
war with me but he will with the puppy we are currently fostering.  He always looks so happy to be
getting some attention.

RUFUS 3 yr Black Male 65 lbs
Words from Rufus ...
..It was my 37th day in the shelter cage when my life turned around.  Boy, am I glad it did.  The dog in the kennel next to me hurt me.
My ear was hanging between the chain link and he grabbed it and tore it almost clean off.  The doctor said he couldn't save it and
removed the whole bottom part of my ear.  It hurt!  Not long after I was led into the office of the pound and a lady put a leash on me,
took me outside (outside, no cages, outside!).  She let me pee on lots of things and put me in the back of her car.  She said she
would have been here sooner if she hadn't gotten stuck on the highway with the snow storms that day.  She talked to me almost the
whole drive.  She kept saying how there was a song played for me on the radio by Pearl Jam and in it it said that she knew someday
I'd have a beautiful life.  I had no idea what she meant.  We drove for a while through lots of snow.  She played music and she talked
to me.  I was a bit  anxious.  I didn't want to go to another cage...or worse.  I found out that if I stick my head beside her she gave me
chin scratches and TREATS!!!  I could not eat them fast enough they were so good in my shrunken tummy.  When they were gone
she just rubbed my chin and oh boy did that feel good.  My legs felt like jelly and it felt like all my weight was being held by her hand.
I closed my eyes and hoped that this would never stop.  The lady took me to a nice, bright, warm place where I had blankets and
fresh water and people speaking softly.  I was thinking that this beautiful life sure is great.

Day one of freedom:  The lady came back today and we went for this long walk, though I think she called it a jog.  Then she said that
I haven't been walked in so long I'd forgotten how a leash works.  We went all over.  I sniffed and peed on everything..It was pure
delight.  The lady talked to me the whole time but I was so excited the only word I remember is "Rufus".  I'm starting to think that
means something.  We went into a park and she knelt beside me and was trying to take pictures but I just couldn't stop moving.
Then I leaned into her and she fell over.  I was laughing so hard that I fell over too.  Then she was on her back laughing and rubbing
my side.  She kept calling me a cuddle bug and I just kept rolling around on my back, leaning in to her, feet flailing.  I was laughing
so hard I just couldn't stop.  That was the best belly laughing on the floor I have had in a long time.  Phew, WOW!  This beautiful life
she keeps saying  doesn't begin to describe this feeling.  Anyway, we walked back and I had to keep looking at her to make sure she
hadn't fallen down again.  When we got back the doctor looked me over and gave me needles.  I didn't like this very much.  But I did
make a new friend and she said she'd be back to walk me the next day.  That's when I thought I'd say thank you with a sit and a paw
shake.  They all thought that was the bees knees.

Day two of freedom:  I was walked by my new friend and then two new friends came to walk me and care for me.  Oh, my goodness,
what have I done to deserve this much attention?  The lady came back tonight after dark.  She took me to sniff and pee and then put
me in her car.  Woohoo!  Where are we going now?  Would you believe this - we went shopping.  It was a beautiful bright store with
magic doors and everyone had treats.  The whole store was one big TREAT!!!  I was told I could have as many as I wanted because I
need to put some weight on.  The lady and I walked around and I helped her pick out bones that I could chew.  She said I was a big
chewer and needed solid bones so I didn't hurt myself.  I saw other dogs in the store too.  They were interesting and I sniffed one but
wow...have you ever seen such a store...way too much to see, smell, eat.  No time to chit chat.  There were some short people there
too...they didn't have food so I  didn't pay much attention to them.  I only lifted my leg once the whole time we were in there.  Boy did
that rack smell good...I couldn't resist.  When we got back in the car we sat in the back together for a while and I got to chew this BIG
bone.  The lady talked to me again.  She said I was special and that my beautiful life is just around the corner.  I looked at her
confused and I thought, "you mean this isn't my beautiful life?"  She said that pretty soon I'd have my own person or people and a
home with a bed and toys and a yard to play in.  She said she drove through a snow storm to get me and the whole drive she said
over and over that she'd drive to the ends of the earth to save me and that I need to feel love and a gentle touch.  I must admit I felt
pretty special in that moment.  I relaxed and curled up beside her and chewed my bone.

If you are looking at me and thinking that you would like to be my person please know that I am gentle with
treats, I love my belly rubbed, I love long fast walks and would really love to resume my education.  I'm thinking
of night school where you can come with me and learn all the same things.  How great is that - I get to learn
new things AND spend time with you.  Sigh...I'm starting to get used to the beautiful life.

HUNTER 6 yrs Black Male 95 lbs
Hunter is a gorgeous, well built black lab that is quite connected to his owner. He looks her in the eye
and patiently waits for her command. He is highly food motivated in terms of training and will do
anything for a cookie, which he will take gently from your hand. He walks super well on a haltie but can
be quite bouncy and strong off the haltie.  He has graduated all levels of training but will need a
strong positive based owner to make sure this boy continues to be directed by his owner.

He enjoys lots of outdoor play time and adores a game of fetch.

If you have a chance to get near water watch this boy swim endlessly! He adores fetching a stick in
the water and will do it until your arm can no longer throw,

He is use to going camping lots and does quite while traveling in the car.

He greets guests at the door with a proper level of excitement and can even try a sit / stay while they
enter. His barking when the doorbell rings is appropriate and with a simple command "enough" he
stops and waits.

This boy is a special boy that is use to a female owner for directions and would do well with a
confidant lab savvy family.

WHISKEY 4.6 yrs Chocolate Female 60 lbs
Whiskey has lived the first few years being bounced between families, never really getting the time
and attention she deserves and more importantly the love. Whiskey is learning loads of wonderful
things from her foster family and is so excited to try and make them happy. She is an eager learner
especially with some treats, but what lab isn't?

Whiskey's favorite way to spend time is playing ball which she adores or going for a nice jog with her
foster family.  She is learning how to walk on leash and is pretty good the majority of the time. She can
pull when she wants to see another dog and will need some further training to get the walk delightful
at all times.

Whiskey is super affectionate and really cuddly. She tries really hard after a long hike in the country to
curl up on her foster dad's lap and grab a snooze in the car on the way home. She is so enjoying the
people companionship and given her lack of it for the first few years we would prefer her to be
adopted into a family with only older children so she can get the time and attention she truly deserves.

Whiskey is a real gem!
 ADOPTED!

JOEY 3 yrs Yellow Male - 75 Lbs - Lab x
......They called me a stray.  I was lost.  When the person in the uniform picked me up he drove me to
an animal shelter.  They took a look at me and all I heard was the word "euthanasia". It was one thing
being on my own with my condition.  Now I have people and other animals looking at me and
concerned about what I might have to make me look the way that I do.  My skin felt so bad.  I was
chewing at it so much but the itch never went away.  I couldn't scratch at it very well because my nails
grew so long that they curled under so I had no choice but to use my teeth.  The doc at the shelter
said that I had a poor prognosis which sounded like a bad thing.  There was a lot of talk about me but
I could only pick out some of the words.  They were going to give me medicine to see if my skin got
better but that they wouldn't be able to keep me at the shelter after too long.  I could not sleep that
night.  My head was filled  with planning the next stage of my life.  Where do I go when they tell me to
leave?  Am I to go back on the streets?  Roam the countryside and hope for handouts?  Hope that
an animal bigger and stronger won't chase me down?

Turns out that the medicine I was taking started to make me feel better.  The itch wasn't as bad.
Great news....but now I had to leave the shelter.  I was getting food here and I had a roof over my
head; not so bad considering.  Next thing I knew I was being led into a car and headed for a long
drive.  I was confused.  Are they taking me back to the country side that I knew so well?  As I looked
out the window I wasn't seeing farms and woods and fields.  I was seeing tall buildings, highways, and
houses.  Now I was really confused.  The person driving the car was talking into this thing attached to
her ear.  I heard things like "Garlic" and "on the last leg of transport" and "headed to Lab Rescue for
care and a new home".  I listened carefully and thought hard but couldn't piece it together.  It wasn't
long before the car stopped and I was led out.  I went to a nice grassy patch to do my business and
brought inside a hospital.  I heard a  lot of nice voices saying hello and what a nice boy.  They didn't
seem to be scared of how my belly and legs looked.  They were better from being in the shelter but
they still didn't look like any other dog I knew.  I had my own room with water, food and a hello from
anyone who walked by.  I didn't hear the word Garlic after that either.  Instead I heard "Joey".  I'm not
sure what Garlic is but Joey sure sounded nicer!  This was a brighter place and it sure smelled better
than the shelter, it was a lot quieter too.  I was still scared.  So much is new.  I'm even in this strange
world of buildings and concrete instead of flowing meadows and creeks.  After some soothing I fell
asleep and slept like a rock!

The next day a lady from Lab Rescue came by.  She was sitting in the doctor's office when I was
brought into the exam room.  As soon as she saw me her eyes seem to light up and she had a huge
smile on her face.  She said "Joey!" in the most wonderful, excited way.  I felt like I was being
welcomed by a long lost family member.  For me, I was so nervous I was trembling.  I was meeting
someone new who seemed so nice; when was she going to realize my belly and legs and walk away?
She kept talking nicely saying I was handsome and gentle and sweet.  I climbed up and put my front
feet in her lap and brought my head close to hers and thought "are you serious?"  She just said, "oh
my goodness, you are a wonderful boy". I was still trembling and she noticed.  Her voice got quiet and
soothing.  Softly she told me not to be scared and that everything was going to be alright and that I'll
be taken care of.  Well, didn't I just try to climb right into her  lap!  I wasn't trembling anymore, that's for
sure.  She also said that I seemed so happy go lucky with this sloppy smile and bright expressive
eyes.  A new doctor came in and looked me over head to toe, he listed off the medicines I was to take
and a new food.  He thinks I have allergies and that some time on the medicine and new food will help
us know for sure.  I did not like standing on that slippery table except for the treats I was given to help
me stand up.  I won't tell them that I slipped on purpose a couple of times because the flow of treats
stopped (lol).  Once I had my needles I was placed back on the floor, outfitted in a beautiful new blue
collar and leash and taken outside by the rescue lady.

So, back to this change to the big buildings, highways and houses.  I'm told this is city life.  Have you
any idea how many things there are to sniff here?  I lifted my leg so high that the lady thought I'd fall
over.  At one point she looked at me and laughed and said that I wasn't even squirting anything
anymore.  She was surprised how decent I was on leash considering I'm a country boy.  When I was
being driven here I thought how ugly those poles are dotted all over the place.  They are now the best
things ever!  We sat in a park for a little while and a nice man and his two boys came up to see me.
They said they'd bring me home if they didn't have 2 rescues at home already.  He patted me and his
boys said hello.  They seemed very nice.

For my first day in the city I'd say it was a wonderful first day of my new life.  I must say that seeing
how everyone was saying such nice things and the doc not using the words euthanasia or poor
prognosis my confidence has been given a boost.  I love all the people I've met because they seem to
really love me too.  I wonder what happens next?

The Life of Bailey

Bailey 12 yrs, Chocolate, Female
Bailey is a dear, sweet natured girl and one look into her soulful eyes will melt your heart. Bailey came into our care  from a fellow
that had recently divorced and remarried. His new wife did not want this princess around because she was "old and shed"! We
jumped at the chance to save this senior as her options of staying alive being dropped off at a shelter were not great.  When Bailey
came to us her allergies were being controlled by a drug that was not being monitored properly causing some serious side effects
and possibly decreasing her life span. We immediately got her allergies under control  as well as getting her onto a healthy diet.
Under our wing, Bailey's allergies are controlled and she has blossomed into a super affectionate, social girl , who loves to be
petted and lie beside you. Bailey is slow moving and asks for nothing more than plodding around the backyard , gentle pats, a good
chew toy and in return has so much love to give.
Bailey has the eyes of an angel and we are thrilled to have
made such a difference in this chocolate princess' life.
May 3, 2011 ..One of our beloved fur babies leaves us ... BAILEY
Running this rescue as volunteers we have to deal with some heavy emotional situations and we draw on our strength, passion and
love of the breed to keep us going. It isn’t always easy, in fact it is incredibly difficult to manage our own paid careers, family’s and fur
kidz AND run a rescue as demanding and popular as we have become in the last 2.5 years since we started.
What keeps us going?   The incredible placement stories, the love of the newly adoptive family’s for labs that were carelessly
disposed of for no other reason then people are just are tired of them, bored, fed up, haven’t trained them, have children, get
divorced etc.
One girl particularly touched my heart when we first started back in 2008 and her name was BAILEY.
Bailey came to us after a divorce and no one wanted her. She was 10 years old in November 2008 when she came to us with liver
levels that were through the roof, on long term meds that were dispensed like candy and not properly monitored leaving her in a
medically weak position. From the moment we set eyes on this girl I knew we would never want her to leave our care as she had so
little time left.
To our sincere surprise and working with some amazing doctors our sweet brown Angel lived another 2.5 years as the happiest,
most content senior surrounded by the love of her incredible foster family, Andres, Catarina and Lidia.  She lived with her foster
friend Tara, went on car rides, play days with other labbies, and trips to the cottage. She was surrounded by so much love and
affection and deserved every second of it.

May 3 was a sad day for us as our sweet Chocolate Princess has passed on. She will be sadly missed and was truly a symbol to the
rescue of what saving these dogs is all about.
Truly the eyes of an Angel.
