The story of Princess and the world of rescue....
BACK GROUND STORY: Surprise!  We're expecting! (March 2011)

We have learned over the years that there are a lot of mysteries that need to be solved with many of the dogs that come
into Lab Rescues care. Our volunteers are accustomed to working with the dogs to bring them out of their shells, settle
nerves from being displaced from their homes, and sort through medical concerns such as allergies, arthritis and joint
injuries.

Discovering that our Princess is with puppies has been our biggest surprise yet!

Having never had a pregnant dog in the Lab Rescue program we were in need of experienced help to whelp the puppies so
that the health of Princess and her brood continues to be a priority.  With sincere thanks to Tari and her amazing team at
Bralex - Princess is safe receiving the care and love she so deserves.

After Princess delivers and the pups grow we are faced with yet another challenge; not only are we searching for a loving
forever home for Princess but for all of her countless puppies as well!

Information about Princess' past home tells us that she is a veteran mom.  Princess is a quiet girl who contentedly wags her
tail when near to you. She enjoyed spending time with her initial foster mom, foster sister and two feline foster siblings and
often sat close by for love and cuddles.  Her expressive eyes ask for head rubs and quiet conversation.  Princess walks well
on leash but does like time to adjust to some sounds.  Princess loves bones and has affectionately been titled The Bone
Hoarder.  Though a strong silent type, Princess has a funny side to her also.  All wrapped together, this beautiful mama dog
will make a wonderful companion to someone who will show her kindness and attention.

The increased need for veterinary care, food and other life-sustaining items for Princess and her pups is a unique
challenge for Lab Rescue. It is a challenge that we are hopeful that other share with us in financial support through
donations.

The team at rescue had a wonderful time with Princess and her 9 pups. See pictures below. The puppies as posted are 6
days old and growing quickly with most registering 2 lbs at the 6 day mark. Princess is an incredible mom! Patient,
friendly, kind, nurturing. A true epitome of a lab and incredible resilient given her journey. Although, we obviously know that
princess is a gorgeous yellow lab we do not know the make up of the other half of these pups. They are all yellow in colour
and seem to have longer ears. There may be a possibility that these pups could be part lab part Basset hound -
