Hi Friends,
My name is Gunnar and I am a five year old boy who is coming to Lab Rescue because my families situation has changed and they no longer have the time to properly care for me.
Medically, I am a healthy boy.
In the house, I am wonderfully behaved. I have no issues being left alone while you work or run errands. I love my toys and will only chew them not the furniture! I also don't bark that much. For the most part I am a quiet boy in and around the house. When the front door opens I am not a door dasher I will wander out but will only go as far as I can see you, and then I will come back. I am used to snuggling with my human at bedtime so I am hoping to go to a home that really enjoys a big boy cuddling with you.
When it comes to exercise I am really up for anything and I get super excited when my leash comes out. I am pretty go with the flow and enjoy anything my humans want to do including walking, hiking, playing and swimming. I really love to swim and with the warm weather coming up I am super excited to splash in the waves.
I also enjoy car rides and where we are off to next! I will politely sit in the back and hang out.
I am fantastic with people of all ages and all sizes. Whether its kids or adults I do not need time to warm up to anyone. I am super affectionate and cuddly.
I have never lived with another dog but I really enjoy dogs. I have no issues sharing food, toys, water, etc. When I am on a walk I will whine until I get to see another dog. As long as another dog isn't mean or pushy I really enjoy the company, and would even do well living with another dog.
I have met a cat once who hissed and swatted at me so I tried to chase her away for hurting me....so I think living with a feline friend would be a no at this time.
Do I sound like I could be a match for you?
Gotta go playtime!
Love, Gunnar.
