My name is Maya and I recently celebrated my third birthday! I am coming to Lab Rescue because I have not been adjusting well to the changes in the home with a new baby on the way. I am no longer allowed in the bedrooms where I am used to sleeping or the kitchen, and with young kids around all the time its been too much for the family.
Medically, I am healthy.
I know some pretty awesome commands too! I can sit, lay down, shake a paw and I even know when you say "bed" to go to my doggy bed.
I am pretty good girl in the house. When I have to go potty I will come up to you and do a little dance and then run to the door to let you know. I am super affectionate and will paw you for extra love when I need it (which is always). My humans had to remind me that I'm not exactly the size of a lap dog. I love to snuggle up on the couch and watch Netflix with you...so I hope you don't mind the extra fur on the couch. When my humans go out I will just snuggle up on my dog bed until they get home.
I get excited to meet everyone I meet and although I am good with kids, it would be best to be in a home that is not too chaotic with young kids. In my my last home I would grab a snack or two out of the kids hands when they weren't paying attention.
I have lots of energy and would love a home that is active. Walking, hiking, playing, running all sound wonderful to me. I have never tried swimming and with the warm weather coming up it would be great to try something new.
I am the new girl in the neighbourhood so please stay tuned as the team gets to know me and I settle in.
