Sheldon here! I'm a handsome yellow boy around 5 years old, I think. Life has been tough for me. I've been fighting hard to recover from an illness that has taken my sight. I'm improving very well but the future of my vision remains unknown.
I'm a sweet and happy boy despite my unfortunate circumstances but I still live life like a normal dog. I'm great on the leash and enjoy a 40 minute walk in the morning and 25 minute walk in the evening. It's a leisurely sniff stroll as opposed to a power walk. I have to catch up on all the neighbourhood gossip, you know?
My house manners are stellar and my cuddling skills are off the chart. I love to play with my squeaky toys and the game of tug of war. I go with the flow and lounge around on my dog bed. I'm becoming more comfortable with the stairs by the day. My foster mom is really good at reaching dogs like me.
I enjoy the company of my canine foster brother. And love to meet new people on my walks and soak up all the love. They say I'm just a big love bug.
I'm looking for a family dedicated to meeting my needs which are patience, perseverance, and unconditional love. I would love a family who will help me explore this new world and make memories to last a lifetime. Experience with a blind dog is an asset. A fully fenced yard, older kids if any (over 12) and no cats would perfect. If there is a dog in the home it would need to have a welcoming personality and patience while I get accustomed to going with the flow.
Lab rescue will continue to follow Sheldon as we await further assessment of his eyes by a specialist.
