Meet bear, our 11-year-old Lab mix filled with love, wisdom, and gentle loyalty. This super-sweet senior is looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can hang his leash, enjoy his golden years, and soak up all the love he deserves.
Bear enjoys casual neighbourhood walks and is very good on leash happy to help you get your steps in! While long hikes or walks aren’t really his thing anymore, he still enjoys a few shorter strolls each day and loves exploring at his own relaxed pace.
He’s friendly and polite meeting new people and respectful dogs on walks, though he appreciates calm introductions and takes a little time to warm up. Bear isn’t a fan of overly pushy dogs and would chase a cat if given the chance, so he’s happiest as the only fur baby in his home where he can have all the love and attention to himself.
At home, Bear is the definition of a gentle housemate. He has excellent manners, lets you know when he needs to go outside, and is content to nap nearby while you go about your day. He sleeps peacefully through the night in his foster’s bedroom and patiently waits for an invitation before hopping on the couch.
He absolutely adores belly rubs, cuddles, and gentle scratches: once he’s comfortable, he’ll reward you with the sweetest, softest kisses. He’s also very smart and knows all his basic commands.
Some words from his foster on how he’s been doing: “He’s the sweetest ever! Long walks may not be his thing since he’s a senior boy who loves his lounging time, but getting some steps in is always important for him. I adore him. He’s just the best.”
Bear enjoys enrichment and mental stimulation, whether that’s sniffing around the yard, nudging a squeaky toy, or exploring new scents. He loves lounging and feeling the breeze outside, and just being part of the peaceful rhythm of home life.
