Hi friends, my name is Buddy!

I've got a whole lot of love packed into this big, wiggly body of mine, and I can't wait to share it with my forever family. I'm a sweet boy with a heart that's happiest when I'm with my people. 

Whether we're heading out on a hike, exploring the neighbourhood, saying hello to friendly dogs, or simply relaxing together at home, I love just being by your side. Hiking? I'm in! A special treat? You don't even have to ask! Those are just a few of the little things that make me smile.

At 8.5 years young, I've found the perfect balance between adventure buddy and professional nap enthusiast. I'm just as happy joining you for a long morning hike as I am curling up nearby while you work, keeping you company with one eye open just in case you decide it's time for another adventure. My foster family says I'm an absolute delight and loves to have me hop in the car with them for a fun outing.

Walks are a great of my day. I love exploring new trails, sniffing interesting smells I come across, and saying hello to some canine neighbours. I've enjoyed neighbourhood walks alongside other dogs and really love having a four-legged friend to stroll and play with.

One thing you'll quickly learn about me is just how much I adore my people. Once we become friends, I'm your loyal shadow. I'll happily lean against your legs while you scratch my ears or give me a bum scratch, soaking up every bit of affection I can get. And if you happen to stop before I'm ready? Don't worry...I'll gently place my paw on you as my sweet little way of saying, "Excuse me, I think we were in the middle of something!" I truly cherish those quiet moments of connection.

I'm also a pretty big fan of car rides. There's just something magical about cruising along with the window cracked, feeling the breeze on my face and watching the world go by. Sometimes I even close my eyes and simply enjoy the moment.

I have a playful side too! I enjoy toys, tossing around a ball, and every once in a while I get the cutest burst of zoomies. If you cheer me on with a happy "Go Buddy!", you'll see me bouncing around with excitement, showing off my silly side before settling back into my calm, easygoing self.

Despite my size, I'm a true gentleman around the house. My foster family often comments on how mindful and graceful I am indoors. I settle very well, happily snoozing away while you work or relaxing by your feet. On hot summer days, you'll probably find me stretched out beside the air conditioning vents, soaking up every bit of cool air I can find. I also have no problem letting you know if I'd rather skip a walk and enjoy a lazy afternoon instead.

I'm hoping to find a patient and encouraging family who will love having a loyal best friend by their side.
