AVAILABLE for ADOPTION!

This lovable goofball is bursting with affection—his love for his people is almost over-the-top in the best way. Moose is playful, and always ready for attention (especially if belly rubs or snacks are involved).

Moose gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is curious yet respectful around cats. He lives to meet new people and soaks up every bit of love he can get. He knows his basic commands - though his recall still needs a bit of work!

He really enjoys getting out and walking with his foster, and he’d thrive with someone who can give him structure and daily activity to keep him happy and healthy.  He’s fine to be alone for short periods while his people work and he’s also game to tag along to work too, if it’s allowed.

Moose is a champion car rider, loves his toys (hard ones are best), and snoozes peacefully in his humans’ room at night. He hasn’t had a chance to try swimming yet but he’d love to try anything with you by his side.

Moose does have a medical condition—he occasionally experiences seizures and takes daily medication to manage them. It’s essential his new family stays consistent with his meds to keep him safe and thriving.

If you’re looking for a big-hearted, goofy, and affectionate companion, Moose is ready to bring endless love (and some silliness) into your life.  Contact us today to chat about Moose.

Foster Update: Moose!

Lab Rescue's lovable goofball Moose is thriving in foster and ready to find his forever home!

Health

We’re pleased to report that Moose has been seizure-free for almost 5 weeks! He’s doing great with his medication routine—he takes his pills every 8 hours without issue, either on his own or tucked into a meal. He's eating, peeing, and pooping normally with no health concerns at this time.

Dog Interactions

Moose loves people and enjoys making new dog friends, but he can get a bit too excited, which can lead to rough play. His foster is actively working with him using Lab Rescue’s training plan. He's doing best around dogs that confidently set boundaries—he respects them and adjusts his behavior accordingly.

House Manners

Moose is perfectly house trained and hasn’t had a single accident. His favorite spots are either the couch, the bed, or anywhere you are—he’s definitely a people-oriented pup and loves to snuggle (he truly thinks he’s a lapdog). He doesn’t counter surf, chew inappropriate things, or get into garbage. He’s quiet overall, only barking occasionally at unexpected noises like the doorbell.

Leash Skills

He’s strong on leash initially and gets especially bouncy when he sees new people or dogs. His foster avoids close encounters with unfamiliar dogs to keep him calm. He’s not reactive to cars or loud noises but may pull if surprised by a squirrel or bunny.

Play Style

Moose is still figuring out what toys he loves—fetch and tug games tend to make him overstimulated, so they’re limited. However, he adores his daily dental chew from the vet! As for swimming... let’s just say it’s not his thing (he had to be rescued from the pool recently after an accidental splash!).

Car Rides

He rides well in the car, prefers an open window, and tends to pant and drool a bit—so a hammock or seat cover helps.

Personality

Moose is one of the most affectionate, goofy, outgoing, and snuggly dogs his foster has ever met. He leans into you for pets, follows you around the house like a shadow, and is happy to snuggle up at any time of day. He sleeps soundly through the night (usually in bed, but will happily sleep wherever you ask).

He makes eye contact, knows his name, and greets everyone with tail wags and gentle nudges. Loud noises or quick movements don’t bother him much, and he’s not prone to jumping up—just enthusiastic leaning!

Moose would do well in a home with someone who can continue his training and help him manage his excitement, especially around other dogs. A confident dog sibling who can set clear boundaries would be great for him. He thrives on routine and affection, so someone who’s home often and ready for a big-hearted cuddle buddy would be the perfect match!
