Hello Friends!

I’m Slate, a 6½-year-old Lab mix with a big, goofy personality and an even bigger heart. I love being around people and naturally want to be part of whatever is going on. People often call me a “Scooby-Doo type” because I’m cheerful, clumsy, and always ready for fun.

I’m smart and food motivated, which makes learning fun for me. I already know commands like sit, lie down, paw, come, and down, and I love when people guide me with patience and treats. Sometimes I get a little excited and forget my size, but I’m easy to redirect and always eager to please!

I really enjoy being outdoors. I love exploring, following scents, and spending time with my people while roaming around. I benefit from having a space where I can stretch my legs and trot around. After my day of adventures, I’m happy to settle down for a good nap and just relax by your side.

Want to know what else I love? Fetch! It’s my absolute favorite time, especially with tennis balls. I enjoy interactive play with my people and  with other dogs who match my energy. I’ve lived with cats before, and I get along with them just fine. I’ve also spent lots of time with kids and enjoy their company, whether they’re joining me for outdoor adventures or giving me a big hug.

I enjoy walks on leash, I love exploring my surroundings while out, and about I have a good recall too. I also really love a nice car ride, longer trips are no problem at all for me.

I’m a loving, friendly, and easygoing guy who is looking for a home that can offer companionship, space, and continued guidance. I love being part of daily routines, spending time with my people, and sharing all the fun and love I have to give. I can’t wait to be a loyal, goofy, and affectionate companion for years to come with my forever people.
